About us!

We are Diana and Lucas. We both studied Geography at Augsburg University – that’s also the place where we met.

Diana was born in Romania and first studied Geography and English to become a teacher. She liked Geography that much that she also got a Diploma in Geography. After that she took a job at the Institute for Geography in Augsburg to be a PhD-student. Her dissertation project was entitled „Tourism and Wind Energy – the influence of tourism on the spatial expansion of wind energy at the level of regional planning in Bavaria“ (free translation). She finished her dissertation, defended it and it was acknowledged the day before we left to travel to Russia, the 2nd of April 2019.

Lucas was born in Germany and decided to study Geography after returning from his trip to New Zealand. After finishing his bachelor, he decided to complete his Master studies in Augsburg as well – which was quite important in the decision of travelling the world with Diana. He finished his Master thesis in the last week of March.

We met at Lucas’s first week of University. After being friends for a long time it sparked and the decision to travel after finishing the Master and PhD studies was quickly made. Of course the pre-planning took up a lot of time, many discussions, trips to places, administrative matters but now we are more than happy to travel to so many special places! We started our trip in Saint-Petersburg on the 3rd of April 2019.
